How to Get Rid of Allergic Shiners


Try to identify allergy triggers such as pollen, mold, dust, ragweed and so on. If you know what triggers your nasal allergies try to avoid triggers as much as possible. Clean and dust regularly to reduce these triggers in your home. Treat your yard with products that will kill pollen and weeds.


Take antihistamine. These can be purchased over counter and are good for treating allergies. Antihistamines are good for treating itchy and watery eyes, runny nose, sneezing, and other allergy symptoms. Some antihistamines can make you sleepy so read back of box about any cautions you should take. It’s best not to take them if you’re going to be driving or operating machinery.


Use nasal sprays. You can get prescription or over counter nasal sprays to treat your nasal allergies and common cold symptoms. If you use sprays before your symptoms start, symptoms can be prevented.


Ask your doctor about getting prescription for nasal steroids. You will need to use nasal steroids daily for best effect and there may be some side effects that you should discuss with your doctor.


Hold hot towel over your eyes and nose. This will help with any eye puffiness as well as help to open and drain your nasal passages. You will need to repeat process of holding hot towel over your eyes and nose several times day. You can also put sliced cucumbers or hot tea bags over your eyes to help lessen any puffiness.
